2009.10.25_Sun Star Daily: Mikee shares views on PBB Double Up

Former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) teen housemate Mikee Lee posed concern about the recent task that required two sets of housemates to pretend that they are a couple.

"I was kinda alarmed about what they they were asking them to do. They were asking the housemates to act, make pretend that you're married, make pretend that you're a couple," he said.

"Because what they want to show in the house is not their own personality. 'Yung teleserye ng totoong buhay,' I'm scared that it might go overboard. I'm pretty concerned but I know that the tasks there are well thought of," he added.

But other than the initial concern, Mikee said the new twist brings out more of the competitive spirit of the housemates.

"You know that you have an opponent who will wake you up when you do something wrong," he said.

As compared to the PBB season where Mikee joined, the teen housemates only had to compete for one goal which would translate to budget for good.

"The competition is okay because personally, I really like competition. I really want a rival. In grades for example, I have to know what the valedictorian is doing so I can gauge it," he said.

When competition enters the picture, people can help but compare Mikee to Robi Domingo, a fellow Atenean who also became a part of the Big Four of the PBB Teen Edition that followed.

"Robi is a good friend. We're from the same school so I don't see why we have to be pitted against each other," he said.

They were even carpoolers in an outreach program when Mikee was in second year high school.

He thinks this is all because of the similarity in the image they exude.

"I guess in terms of image we just get mistaken for each other a lot but i'm sure that there will come a point when we'd do different things, to assert our identities more," he said.

Both Mikee and Robi are into hosting but Mikee said they are into different flavors of hosting.

Robi is a video jock in music channel Myx while Mikee hosts Y-speak on Studio 23 and Soul Mix in TV 5. He was also the host of now defunct television show Take Five in TV 5.

"Majority of the shows I hosted were puro advocacies. I'm happy because Y-speak is my dream show," he said.

Mikee also said that he tries to practice even if there's no show while he hopes that Robi gets better and better.

He also commends Robi's humility.

"Robi, I see him in school sometimes. It's good that he's humble despite the success. He's humble. I think that's the way it's supposed to be because in this business, those who become famous in an instant, it gets in our heads. We have some sense of entitlement," he said.

Robi Domingo explores his dramatic prowess in ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’...

Robi Domingo takes on a dramatic role in Maalaala Mo Kaya where he plays as the sympathetic brother of Gerald Anderson who has Tourette Syndrome (TS, a serious illness characterized by physical and vocal tics). Since it’s his first time to guest star on the country’s most prestigious drama anthology, he describes how different it is from his experiences in Your Song Presents Boystown (2009) and My Girl (2008). “Medyo teenybopper kasi yun. Light drama pero may halong kilig at funny scenes. But in this MMK episode, kada labas ko sa camera, sobrang bigat ng eksena,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN.com.

This true-to-life story aims to show how family members deal with the odd behavior and moods of a patient with TS. Viewers can expect to see some heartbreaking scenes which will showcase the dramatic prowess of Robi and Gerald. “Maraming iyakan kasama ng pamilya. Kaya ang preparation ko dun, nagbaon ako ng sibuyas,” he joked. “Yung totoo niyan, para mamotivate kami sa set, may music na nakakaiyak na paulit-ulit pini-play. Nakikiride na lang po ako sa iyakan,” he cheerfully added.

Robi further shared that this brief stint gave him a chance to bond with Gerald. “Una kaming nagkakilala sa My Girl last year. Pero siyempre dahil bagong-pasok lang ako sa showbiz nun at kadalasan magkaiba naman kami ng unit, wala masyadong opportunities na magkatrabaho talaga. But this time, nagkataon na sa apat na magkakapatid sa story ng MMK, ako yung pinakaclose sa kanya. Ok naman, sana magustuhan ng audience ito kasi siguradong may bago silang matutunan lalo na tungkol sa TS,” he related.

Aside from MMK, Robi is also very happy that he’s still part of the MYX family this year despite the new set of winners from the recently-concluded MYX VJ Search. As it is, he has always been worried that his one-year contract wouldn’t be renewed way before he learned about this good news. “Sobrang kinabahan ako these past few weeks. Hindi lang kaming previous winners, pati rin sila Ate Nikki (Gil), VJ Luis (Manzano) and everyone else, kinabahan. Walang sinabing criteria kung paano pinili. But I think I did a great job naman. You know how much I love hosting sa MYX so I’m thankful na kasama pa rin ako,” he beamed.

As for other TV projects, Robi says that given a chance, he’s willing to do a cameo role in Katorse where four of Star Magic’s young talents have bloomed into lead star material. “Payag ako lalo na ngayon sembreak naman, so lahat ng raket pwede kunin. I’ll be back in school on November 9 pa naman po so kaya namang malagay sa schedule ‘yan kung saka-sakali.” But he says that he would rather stick to his wholesome image for now than pursue daring roles like most of his fellow young stars. “Depende pa rin yan siyempre kung ano yung hinihingi ng script. Ang pagpapasexy naman iba-iba ng atake yan. Pero siguro I’m better off with pang-teens muna tutal twenteen pa lang naman ako ngayon,” he grinned.

Robi Domingo is determined to stay in showbiz for a long time...

After his last acting project in Your Song Presents Boystown, Robi Domingo will play the younger brother of Gerald Anderson in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. But while waiting for his next project, Robi keeps himself busy as a VJ for MYX music channel and as a mainstay of ASAP ‘09 every Sunday with the Star Magic dance group Gigger Boys. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, Robi said that he is not worried that he has no regular acting project at the moment. “Hindi naman ako masyadong worried sa ngayon na wala akong regular show. I’m still studying (he’s taking up Health and Science at the Ateneo De Manila University) so habang walang taping pag-aaral muna ang pinagtutuunan ko ng pansin. May MYX pa naman ako so okay lang and ASAP with the Gigger Boys. Siguro magwo-worry na lang ako kapag graduate na ako sa school and by then wala pa ring project na sinasabi.”

This 20-year old acknowledges the fact that staying in showbiz is a challenge for any star. But Robi is confident that his talents will keep him in the industry for a much longer time. “Sa dami na ng artista ngayon mahirap na talagang magkaroon ng stable career. That’s why the challenge is to always enhance your caliber as an artist, whether it is [in] acting, singing, dancing, or anything. So now I’m continuously improving my craft sa dancing and hopefully sa acting din. Malay niyo soon kumakanta na ako, ha ha ha! Seriously, ngayong semestral break plano kong mag-voice lessons. I can play the piano and guitar na, I can also write songs. Maganda kung lahat magagawa ko.”

Robi is just thankful that he is still a regular VJ in MYX one year after winning in the VJ search. He told ABS-CBN.com that this is the job which he enjoys very much. “I’m very happy na tumagal ako sa MYX and sana maraming years pa ako makapag VJ dito. Ang dami kong natututunan, plus it very fun. Hindi rin kasi biro ‘yung mag-host in front of the camera, mag-spiel ng mahahaba. It’s not as easy as it looks on TV.”

After finishing second place in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus last year, Robi auditioned for the MYX VJ Search. Starting out with barely any hosting experience, Robi was proud of his major improvement after being a VJ for a year. “I’ve stopped stuttering, ha ha ha! I’ve learned to organize my thoughts. Mas relaxed na ako ngayon. Dahan dahan na ‘yung pagsasalita ko kaya mas madali nang mag-spiel. Especially sa My MYX na nagbabasa ako ng mga Tagalog requests. Ang pangit naman kung lagi kang nabubulol.”

Is Robi Domingo still hung up on Kim Chiu?

Dapat nang maka-get over.

“May one time dati magkatabi kami ni Gerald.

Magic for A Cause' garners P3.4M after a night of fashion glitz and glamour...

The Magic for A Cause was a huge success even with only a week to organize a full scale fashion show featuring the best and brightest Star Magic artists clad in various designer labels. First on the runway were the endorsers of Bench Pinoy Lab which includes Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca, Shaina Magdayao, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo and the youngest ramp model Zaijan Jaranilla. Leaving no doubt to the audience as to who are the hottest celebrities to date. Pokwang was also a crowd favorite because everyone was expecting her to do a comic stunt while being escorted by the dashing Giggerboys. But she seriously strut her stuff instead and looked like a professional model in a classy gender-bender suit.

Perhaps the most eye-catching of all was Gretchen Barretto in a very sexy gown which has side slits on its bodice. La Greta was the last to grace the catwalk together with Piolo, Kim, and Gerald who also wore the fabulous designs of Inno Sotto. Making the night more fascinating were the special song numbers by the ASAP stars including a duet between Laarni Lozada and Jed Madella, a solo performance by Richard Poon, and an all-star finale led by Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Angelica Panganiban, Maricar Reyes, Bea Alonzo and Sam Milby among others.

It was worth all the effort because a total of P3,407,000 were raised for the charity event with Bench and Coca-Cola Foundation donating P1M each. Other companies and prominent persons who also made a generous contribution were the following: Ultra Mega Supermarket (P500,000), Globe Asiatique (P200,000), Proctor & Gamble (P100,000), Mayor Rey Uy and the government officials of the Municipality of Tagum City, Davao del Norte (P100,000), and Liza Gokongwei (P50,000).

On the other hand, P222,000 was garnered from the guests namely, Jacobina Haw (P100,000), Melvin Chua ($5,000), Edgar Mangahas, Jose Tan of Toyota San Fernando, Rowena Tomeldan, Daisy Chua, Tina Aquino, Ideal People Model Management, Cathy Bengzon, Nikki Valdez, Violeta Luna, Leo Katigbak, Avinash Uttamchandani, and Anne Cusi.

Since donations in kind were also welcome, Robina Gokongwei-pe pledged 50 sets of cookware; P2M worth of clothes from Jewels, and more garments from the boutique of Mykee Atelier (brother of Maricel Soriano). Kris Aquino also guaranteed to give all the royalties of Baby James from their We Are One Album as well.

All these proceeds would be given to Sagip Kapamilya which continuously helps the typhoon victims in the country.

Watch out for the exclusive showing of Magic for A Cause on TFCNow very soon!

Kapamilya Karavan at Kadayawan

Stars indeed rained during the recent Kadayawan Festival as ABS-CBN flew in its popular crowd-drawer stars last Saturday.

Filling up the Gaisano Mall to the rafters, Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson, Coco Martin, Matt Evans, Melissa Ricks along with stars that elicit screams and swoons from the teens like AJ Perez, Enchong Dee, Chris Gutierrez, Arron Villaflor and Robi Domingo, made the city's celebration more memorable.

The Kapamilya stars gamely met the local media in a press briefing before the show. It Gerald and Coco were their usual laid back self as they expressed their wishes to do more dramatic roles in the future.

However, Gerald says that he is getting the dream roles that he always wanted as of now. Coco, meanwhile says that his exposure to doing indie films has harnessed his acting prowess. Too bad Anne Curtis was not around during the tet‚-a-tet‚ with the stars.

The Gigger boys were sure lots of fun to interview. Without any affectations, they cracked jokes and teased each other with gusto.

Fans all trooped to the venue, enduring the tight-packed elbow-to-elbow crowd, heat and humidity, just to glimpse their favorite Kapamilya stars.

Surely, most of them went home tired but happy and wanting for more shows to come in the future.

Stars 23: Who will stardom bless?

MANILA, Philippines - Dozens and dozens are discovered year in and year out but, sob and sigh, only a few are chosen; only the truly talented stay long in the race.

On the occasion of The STAR’s 23rd anniversary, we drew up a list of the 23 probables out of the hundreds waiting on the wings. Who will stardom bless?

Paulo Avelino — Living up to his title as StarStruck Avenger, the tall, chinito Paulo has proven that he is destined to be a star; that showbiz is not only a playing field for winners but also for runners-up like him. He has shown his acting chops in Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin as good boy-turned-deranged lover of Kris Bernal and now in All My Life as her model admirer. With his arresting oriental looks, Paulo can play lead roles and be the face of brands for men.

Dominic (right) and Felix Roco — They are two peas in a pod. Dad Bembol Roco has passed on his acting genes to his twins, Dominic and Felix. They started in ABS-CBN’s youth-oriented TV series Qpids and crossed over to GMA 7 with Fantastikids. The Roco brothers can do light romance, comedy and drama. Felix has tried his hand in indie films, playing a teen who wants to pass the University of the Philippines College Admission Test in UPCAT and someone escaping a dictator mayor in Cinemalaya’s Engkwentro. Dominic, on the other hand, is part of Chito Roño’s masterpiece Dagaw.

Chris Cayzer — He is a dead ringer of Francis Magalona. Chris wowed everyone with his John Mayer vocals and acoustic music few years back. Besides performing in S.O.P., Chris acts in All My Life where he plays Aljur Abrenica’s musician-friend. Before that, he guested on Kapuso shows like Dear Friend opposite Ryza Cenon. His mestizo looks and thick Australian accent make him ideal as Prince Charming in Cinderella-inspired stories.

Ejay Falcon — The Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big Winner has won the sympathy of the public with his heart-wrenching life story as a boy growing up in the care of his adoptive parents. The hardships and struggles Ejay experienced at a young age will hopefully bring out the emotional, sentimental side of his character in the TV remake Katorse where he stars with Erich Gonzales.

JC Tiuseco — Being in the limelight is not new to this San Sebastian student, he used to walk the ramp and bare his to-die-for bod in fashion shows before the showbiz bug bit him. Survivor Philippines was his passport to the entertainment scene. After becoming the Sole Survivor, televiewers have seen the tall, dark and handsome JC in shows such as Unang Hirit and Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat sa Akin. With his first acting foray in Kung Aagawin, one can say that there’s more to JC’s gorgeous face.

Enchong Dee — He is RP swimming team’s loss but local tinseltown’s gain. His moreno color and tip-top shape will tell everyone that he was the country’s representative to sports competitions like SEA Games and Asian Games. He still has the endurance, discipline and competitive stance of a swimmer. It is not surprising why Enchong remains visible on TV via My Girl, My Only Hope and Boystown. Enchong can also give Vhong Navarro a run for his money in hip-hop and contemporary dancing.

Carlo Guevara — He caught the attention of the viewing public via the model search Be Bench. Although he has a well-defined body, his irresistible smile and amiable mien make you adore him and want to bring him to mom. Carlo has shown his knack for acting in Ligaw na Bulaklak, My Only Hope and Lipgloss.

Gab Valenciano — He is a spitting image of his talented father Gary Valenciano. Like Gary V., Gab dances and choreographs (moves) well. This is shown in S.O.P. and Shall We Dance?

Joem Bascon — In some angles, he can be mistaken for Piolo Pascual. But when you give him a juicy role like the jobless seaman in Sanglaan (Pawnshop), what you see is a dedicated actor giving his all for a convincing performance. Joem is seen weekdays in Precious Hearts Romances Presents Bud Brothers.

Victor Aliwalas — His American accent makes everyone think that he is half-Pinoy. The truth is Victor is Pinoy at heart. He just migrated to the US. His hunky image and acting talent will make him a good leading man. Victor recently starred in SRO Cinemaserye with Jennylyn Mercado, Nadine Samonte and Yasmien Kurdi.

Matteo Guidicelli — He is a champion kart racer used to driving his way on the fast lane. Racing, however, is not the only thing Matteo knows. He can sing. It must be the Cebuano in him. We see Matteo host and perform in S.O.P. To further his talent in performing, Matteo studies musical theater.

Kevin Santos — Like Paulo Avelino, Kevin is a StarStruck Avenger. His early exit in the artista search didn’t dampen his spirits to pursue a career in showbiz. He has guested on GMA 7 programs and shown his acting mettle in Maynila. Kevin is a potential character actor. He will soon be seen in Darna and Show Me the Manny.

Erich Gonzales — In the almost four years after she clinched the Star Circle Quest 2 top spot, Erich has displayed the qualities of a good actress in film or on TV. She initially appeared in ABS-CBN’s teen-oriented show Abt Ur Luv. The Kapamilya network also allows her to appear in the episodes of TV5’s Midnight DJ and GMA 7’s Maynila. Erich will shine more as televiewers get to see a different side of her soon in Katorse, a remake of the ‘80s film which starred Dina Bonnevie.

Alex Gonzaga — Be it fantasy, comedy or drama, expect Alex to get anyone’s attention as she delivers, scene after scene. That’s why she changed her name from Cathy to Alex after leaving a mark as a fashionista in the now defunct Let’s Go on ABS-CBN. She also starred with Kim Chiu in My Girl. Like her sister Toni, Alex gets to sit down with celebrity guests as host of TV5’s Juicy and perks up afternoon TV viewing with showbiz buzz.

Regine Angeles — After being named Be Bench female grand winner, there’s no stopping Regine from showing what she’s got in the acting department. She caught televiewers’ interest in shows like Palos with Jake Cuenca, My Girl and My Only Hope. Her short acting stint in Tayong Dalawa was as impressive as that of lead stars Kim Chiu and Alessandra de Rossi. She is currently in the cast of TV5’s Lipgloss.

Megan Young — Who would ever think she can veer away from the sweet image when she played Ruffa Gutierrez’s aggressive sister in I Love Betty La Fea? Megan played Marcella so naturally, one wouldn’t think she initially had a hard time doing the role — the total opposite of her personality. Her classy aura also makes her an ideal host of Studio 23’s lifestyle show Us Girls.

Queenie Padilla — Her action scenes don’t come as a surprise anymore, since she’s Robin Padilla’s daughter. Like her dad, Queenie is into martial arts and can beat the bad guys. What’s also amazing is she pulled off her role in Totoy Bato, her first acting assignment, without any hitch.

Jackie Rice — Given her acting talent, Jackie could have been earning much more these days hadn’t she become pasaway after winning in the artista search. But things are different now. Jackie seriously has been buckling down to work since GMA 7 gave her another chance. She stars in Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin. Her beauty, whistle-bait figure and milky complexion landed her on the cover of Maxim’s July issue.

Sheena Halili — GMA 7’s StarStruck found a gem in her as she can do whatever the role calls for. She may be Katrina Halili’s scheming friend in Marimar, but Sheena can also be kikay as segment host of Pinoy Records and Carla Abellana’s best friend in Rosalinda. Sheena can also be emotional as she has proven in one of the episodes of Maynila. Could Sheena do action scenes? What if GMA gives her a solo show? Let’s wait and see.

Stef Prescott — The StarStruck Avenger has proven her right to be in showbiz through her acting in various TV shows. She has also starred in two movies. She also graced the covers and pages of fashion magazines. She is currently seen in All My Life.

Ryza Cenon — While her acting affects everyone, her moves on the dance floor also make everyone groove to the beat as well. Definitely, she is a talent on the rise.

Robi Domingo — He is a model to the youth as he juggles showbusiness and studies. On TV, the Pinoy Big Brother Second Placer is VJ Robi playing everyone’s favorite songs and videos and counting down the Top 10 hits. He is a pre-Med student off-cam religiously attending lectures and beating school deadlines. Boystown shed Robi’s good boy image by casting him as a spoiled, rich brat.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS..

Hands slapping, jeers and cheers, and just out of this world laughter were how I spent lunch with five members of Gigger Boys, the newest teen group of Star Magic, the talent pool of ABS-CBN.

Nothing could have been more true than the adage that boys will be boys, celebrities or not, Atenistas or La Sallites.

To begin with, they are all boys composed of AJ Perez, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Chris Gutierrez and Arron Villaflor.

It all started with discussions as to why Ateneo keeps on beating La Salle at the UAAP, only to realize that the blue bloods were out-numbered by the green blooded (?) - no pun intended - by 3 is to 1.

Enchong, AJ and Chris are all from La Salle while it is only Robi who comes from Ateneo.

"Go to your corner, Robi," AJ said jeering at Robi Domingo. "He's the only one out of place in our group, he even dances in the corner lang."

Good natured Robi merely shakes his head saying, "We will keep on winning."

It was also over lunch that the group's name was revealed to be actually an abbreviation for "God is Great, Gets Everybody Rocking."

"First we are boys, and we always have gigs," AJ said.

ROBI DOMINGO LOVES READING...

MANILA, Philippines - Robi Domingo joins Nikki Gil and Chris Tiu as the latest celebrity endorser of the National Book Development Board’s Get Caught Reading Campaign.

Everyone remembers how Robi was introduced to stardom and how, a few days short of his summer break, he graduated from high school along with fellow batch 2007 housemates inside the PBB house. But was that hundred-day period of round-the-clock surveillance really a crossroads for Robi? Did he have to choose, after being offered multimillion peso deals, between school and showbiz?

Apparently not. Robi says, “Ateneo is a big part of who I am, not only because it factored greatly in my involvement in showbiz, but also because of the schooling I have received from it since I was a little boy. I look up to the many Ateneans who are also on TV and in the movies, yet manage to keep their grades high, like Chris and Nikki who do a lot more than me. Dropping out of school altogether was out of the question.”

2009.10.12_pep.ph (N. Almo): Star Magic artists walk the ramp for typhoon victims

"It's really a magical night!" said Vina Morales about the outcome the two-hour benefit fashion show of Star Magic called "Magic For A Cause."

The fashion show last night, October 11, at the Studio 10 of ABS-CBN turned out really well even with only a week of preparation. The stars of the Kapamilya network's talent arm became models for a night for the A-list of designers who showcased their creations to the invited guests.

Piolo Pascual, who did the finale with actress Gretchen Barretto, said it was a blessing to be part of such cause-oriented event.

He related, "I think being part of Star Magic, we were able to come up with our show to promote, of course, 'yong relief operations ng ABS-CBN. We were able to gather donations from our endorsersments, from our sponsors. I guess it served its cause. It's nice to be part of the very meaningful event."

In a separate interview, Sam Milby said almost the same thing about working together as a "family" to help the victims of typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng.

The Fil-Am actor-singer told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "It's a family effort to help out 'yong mga kababayan natin in need. I'm very happy about the outcome, of course. We raised over three million, so maraming families that we were able to help out with this show."

Other Kapamilya stars who wore the designer's collection for this charity event were Diether Ocampo, Bea Alonzo, Pokwang, Chokoleit, Erich Gonzales, Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Rafael Rosell, and Shaina Magdayao.

Matt Evans, Robi Domingo, Enchong Dee, AJ Perez, Dino Imperial, Kian Kazemi, Xian Lim, Guji Lorrenzana, and Joem Bascon graced the event by wearing fasionable men's apparel.

Malaysian actress Carmen Soo joined local female celebrities, like Melissa Ricks, Megan Young, Dimples Romana, Dionne Monsanto, Cassandra Ponti, Wendy Valdez, and Maricar Reyes, to name a few.

Singers Jed Madela, Laarni Lozada, and Richard Poon also shared their talent to entertain the guests while fashion models did their thing on the catwalk.

Meanwhile, the fashion designers featured in this event were Inno Sotto, Randy Ortiz, Joey Samson, Francis Libiran, Black Label, Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Oskar Peralta, Bang Pineda, Lulu Tan Gan, Cary Santiago Joey Samson, Marlon Rivera, Tonichi Nocom, Renee Salud, Frederick Peralta, Puey Quinones, Jun Escario, Avel Bacudio, Jojie Lloren, Bang Pineda, Josie Natori, among others.

Young Designers Guild, Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines, and Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines also cooperated in this event.

Mr. Johnny Manahan, head of Star Magic, was ecstatic about the outcome of the event. He said, "Magic For A Cause was truluy magical. In less than a week, we put up a superb fashion show with the best directors, models, makeup artists, and 80 of the top Star Magic artists, and we were able to raise millions. Magic yun!"

GENEROUS DONORS. The network's goal in putting up such event was successfully achieved as it raised an ample amount of money from generous donors for the typhoon victims.

As reported by Vina and Piolo, cash donations during the event reached up to P152,000. While days before the event, a Kapamilya insider revealed to PEP that about four million pesos cash and three million worth of in-kind donations were turned over to ABS-CBN Foundation's Sagip Kapamilya, which distributes the relief goods to the different areas affected by Ondoy.

Among the donors were Summit Media president Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng and sister Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Globe Asiatique president Delfin Lee, Julie Lim of Ultra Mega Supermarket, government officials of Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Procter and Gamble, Coca-Cola Foundation, and Mr. Ben Chan of Bench.

Sagip Kapamilya program director Tina Monzon-Palma was overwhelmed by the support of different private sectors, and had called their acts of generosity as "extraordinary." She added, "You would be surprised with the kind of generosity that we have received."

On the other hand, ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Gina Lopez assured all the donors that every single centavo of their donation will be spent wisely and distributed to the beneficiaries.

She related, "I'd like to inform all of you, in Sagip Kapamilya, we're working very, very hard. We set up many trucks a day. We service about 10,000 families a day and our efforts are really going areas, which are far flung and which nobody has service. We have today almost 3,400 families."

Ms. Lopez also thanked the Star Magic talents who have been very supportive of their cause for Ondoy victims from the very start. She said, "I wanna thank the stars because they have been going together with the trucks in doing relief services. Our effort is to use every single centavo well and we wanna save some money, and get some money to rehabilitate people."
