Robi Domingo opens his family farmhouse to Star Studio Magazine

Avid fans of MYX VJ/Giggerboy Robi Domingo are already familiar with his newly-built home in Quezon City. But for the first time, the young actor shows his family’s Big Ben Farm in Pulilan, Bulacan in Star Studio Magazine’s April issue. Apparently, it is where he spent most of his childhood before they moved to Quezon City years later. Owned by his her mother’s younger brother, the 12-hectare property boasts of a sprawling American-style farmhouse, a swimming pool, several ponds and pens for various animals like dogs, turkeys, peacocks, thoroughbred horses, and even an ostrich.

While Robi has developed a love for horseback riding, he shares that it’s not something he’s really good at. “My uncle taught me how to ride but I’m not that trained yet. Yung pinakamabait na horse ang pinapagamit nila sa akin kapag nandoon ako. They won’t let me ride my uncle’s horse kasi malaki tapos wild pa. Mabilis tumakbo!” But once you’ve seen the spacious grounds of the farm, it is easy to imagine why Robi used to visit the place three times a month prior his stint in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus two years ago. There are lots of fun-filled activities that they can do or they can simply lie back and relax inside the farmhouse’s airy and well-lit entertainment room. “Huling movie na napanood ko dun is yung Paranormal Activity,” he adds.

Find out more about Robi Domingo’s sweet escape away from the city in Star Studio Magazine April. Other celebrity homes that are featured in this issue includes Kuh Ledesma’s hacienda in Cavite plus Joem Bascon’s rustic hideaway in Antipolo.

Books: Robi Domingo

MANILA, Philippines — I like reading books that teach me things about life — inspirational and self-improvement books. A favorite is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. Another uplifting book is “Enter His Gates: A Daily Journey into the Master’s Presence” by Dr. Charles F. Stanley. This book was a birthday gift from (“Pinoy Big Brother” teen housemate) Rona Libby of Dumaguete. She’s religious. This book teaches you to be practical and to give each person his due. It allows you to hone your ideas and to let your true personality shine through. But first you have to be proactive.

Kapamilya stars 'Run for Change'..

The biggest and brightest ABS-CBN stars spearheaded a movement that aims to encourage registered voters to be wise and vigilant in the coming May 2010 National Elections. The ‘Run for Change’ fun run was held early morning of Sunday, March 14, at the McKinley Hills in Fort Bonifacio where Kapamilya stars, participants of the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs’ Boto Mo I-patrol Mo movement, and students raced to the finish line to show the public that we are all one in praying for an honest, orderly, and peaceful election this May.

Aside from sending out a very important message, all the stars also happily attended the event to be with their beloved peers. Given their respective busy schedules, it had been very difficult for all these stars to get together in one event, forget work for a while, and basically just have fun and catch up on each other. Fitness buffs were also excited to get all sweaty for a worthy cause.

This meaningful event was made possible by Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan and Keren Pascual and participants include Kapamilya stars like Piolo Pascual, Jake Cuenca and Diether Ocampo. The runners competed in two events, the three-kilometer race and the five-kilometer race. Winners in these categories were given medals through a ceremony at the Venice Piazza in McKinley Hills.

In the three-kilometer category, the girls who snatched the medals were Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 ex-housemates Gee-Ann Abrahan (3rd Place) and Beatriz Saw (2nd Place) and young star Heidi Griego (1st Place). Meanwhile the boys who conquered the finish line were Coverboy Jon Avila (3rd Place), and Giggerboys’ Robi Domingo (2nd Place) and AJ Perez (1st Place).

On the other hand the five-kilometer category were ruled by Carlos Agassi (3rd Place), Nico Antonio (2nd Place), Enchong Dee (1st Place) in the male category and Cheska Ortega (3rd Place), Gem Ramos (2nd Place), and Maricar Reyes (1st Place) in the female category.

Gigger Boys have issues with billing?

The Gigger Boys’ Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, AJ Perez, Chris Gutierrez, Aaron Villaflor, Dino Imperial and Sam Concepcion topbill Your Song Presents: Boystown which is directed by Lino Cayetano.

In the series, The Gigger Boys will play resident teenagers in Boystown, a social welfare facility which helps problematic young boys.

Robi, Enchong and Sam recently guested on The Buzz. There are rumors na nag-aaway daw ang mga fans dahil sa billing ng kanilang mga idolo. However, the three said there is no problem among them.

The boys are winners on their own. Enchong is a champion swimmer even before he joined showbiz. He admitted that he feels the pressure because he is one of the lead stars of the new series. “I love my job. I hope I will do well.”

Robi first caught our attention when he joined PBB Teen Edition Plus. In fact, he is a dean’s lister in Ateneo where he majors in Health Sciences. He is also one of the newest MYX VJs.

Sam was The Brightest Star for the Big Division of Little Big Star’s Season 1. He is also into stage acting and acted in plays like Sino Ka Ba, Jose Rizal? and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Sam is DepEd’s Youth Role Model and Spokesperson, Business Software Alliance’s B4USurf Campaign Official Spokesperson for the Philippines and World Vision’s Ambassador for Children.

Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!

Rica, ikakasal sa beach bukas..

When Paano Na Kaya had its premiere at SM Megamall last Tuesday, just about all the co-stars nina Kim at Gerald sa ongoing series nilang Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo sa ABS-CBN were present.

Si Kris Aquino, gumaganap na mother niya sa serye, came with husband James Yap and son Baby James, who reportedly will also have a part in the TV series.

Kris interviewed Kim and Gerald live on SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon).

Gabby Concepcion, Kris’ lover and Kim’s father in Kung Tayo’y..., arrived late.

Naroroon din si Coco Martin, na popular na ngang talaga dahil the fans really chanted his name habang papasok siya sa sinehan.

Coco plays Kim’s brother naman in Kung Tayo’y...

Also present were Kim and Gerald’s fellow Star Magic talents Jake Cuenca and Aaron Villaflor.

Obvious na kaya nandu’n si Jake ay dahil kay Melissa Ricks, who plays a kontrabida in the movie.

Ditto with Ricky Davao.

Singer Karylle was also there, siguro to lend mom Zsa Zsa Padilla moral support.

Zsa Zsa plays Gerald’s pabayang mom in the movie.

She even left her sweetheart (played by Guji Lorenzana), to prove to her son that she is serious na maging ideal mom.

Others in the cast of Paano Na Kaya? are Rio Locsin, Bernard Palanca, IC Mendoza, Cai Cortez and Empoy Marquez.

ROBI DOMINGO.

Like? Ay, wag na…

Kapamilya stars share their plans for the New Year..

ABS-CBN.com asks your favorite Kapamilya stars about their personal resolutions for 2010. Jake Cuenca: Siguro I’ll try to involve myself more in charity work. I want to be able to thank those people who supported me and also those who are less fortunate. Matt Evans: Sinisimulan ko nang mag-work out at mag-diet. Tom Rodriguez: I remain grounded. Whatever happens I hope I can remain to be humble. I always tell them na hindi mangyayari ‘yun. I’ll want to make sure na mapanindigan ko ‘yun. I believe kasi na lahat tayo pantay pantay. Hopefully my views stay the same. Plano kong magpalaman next year. Kaya lang tamad ako mag-gym. Siguro I’ll just eat the right food at vitamins para kahit papaano tumaba ako. Enchong Dee: Magsisipag na siguro ako mag-work out.

Special places and surprises just for you..

MANILA, Philippines – When TriNoma opened in Quezon City in 2007, QC residents (myself included) were elated that Ayala Malls was finally coming to their neighborhood. Now they didn’t have to go to Makati, a good hour and a half away in decent weekday traffic, for their favorite stores. Plus, the design of the mall was nothing seen before in this part of Metro Manila. TriNoma blends the best of leisure, entertainment and shopping offerings in a setting that elevates mall architecture and design.Quezon City is a diverse market made up of upper and middle-class families, students from the country’s top universities and high schools, MRT commuters, and, of course, celebrities. The big TV and movie studios are located only five to 10 minutes away, so it’s not a surprise that on any given day and at any given hour, you’d see celebrities walking around the mall, taking a breather from marathon tapings.Another young star that can be seen in the mall with his family or between tapings and classes at Ateneo is Robi Domingo, who’s currently taking summer classes as a prerequisite to his course, BS Health Sciences. A finalist on ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition and a Myx VJ like Nikki, Robi comes from a family of doctors. His mother is a pediatrician and his father is a surgeon. His long-term goal is to become a doctor, but in the meantime, he manages quite skillfully to balance his time between studying, sports, and his showbiz career. “When I’m in TriNoma, I eat, I get packages from Bench (which he endorses) Skechers, hang out with friends, watch movies with my brother Maro and just relax.”Having grown up in the Commonwealth area of Quezon City and studying in Ateneo on Katipunan Avenue, for him TriNoma makes for a convenient hangout with friends and family.“Dos amigos lang kami ni Maro,” he says of his 15-year-old sibling, whom he took out for a movie at the TriNoma Cinemas for his birthday. When he was about to enter Kuya’s House for Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition, Robi and his classmates watched a movie and “we said our last goodbyes in the mall,” he says with a laugh.Robi’s TV career includes celebrity guestings on variety shows like Pilipinas Game KNB?, The Singing Bee, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, and Wowowee.Like Victor, Robi is also into sports — basketball, baseball and swimming. How is it that the young stars get to roam the mall without being mobbed? For one, the TriNoma crowd is not the mobbing kind and the two boys always wear a baseball cap, which they swear works.“I usually wear a cap and do my own thing,” says Robi. “By the time people recognize me, I’m far away from them already. I don’t mind that kind of attention. After all, I owe the people what I have now. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have been a Pinoy Big Brother finalist.”“All work and no play makes Robi a dull boy,” he says. “You have to count in leisure time in your schedule and malling is my leisure.”
